All I can say is that I wished that I had taken this class the first semester of college. I think it should be mandatory. I have learned so many things: my strengths, where I can improve myself, my personality, my path in life, my health and many useful study tools. CollegeScope student (Spring Semester, 2006)

I liked that you could be honest about yourself and your ideas and I did not feel judged when sharing them. The class helped me to look at testing differently. I always said I was a bad tester, not anymore! I know how to take one question at a time and be prepared to answer it. CollegeScope student (Spring Semester, 2006)

As students begin to maximize their potential through the tools for success contained within the CollegeScope seminar, instructors will have an equally powerful set of tools at their disposal. By using the Student Information Management Tools, instructors will have an accurate real-time snapshot of each of their students. Based on the scores for the CollegeScope assessments, instructors will receive real-time data about potential problem areas for individual students. They will know in advance which students will struggle with motivation, persistence, time management, and connection to their institution - all critical factors in student persistence and success.
Email Alerts
As the students complete the assessments, chapters, and quizzes, instructors will receive automated email "alerts" that will give them real-time information about how each student is progressing in the seminar. They will have the opportunity to intervene in targeted and specific ways for each student.
Student Portfolios
The Student Information Management Tools give instructors access to a Student Portfolio which allows them to see a wealth of information for any student:
Personality type report
Learning styles report
Motivation and persistence factors
Career and major choices
Progress and success in seminar chapters
Because the student information available through CollegeScope is so comprehensive, program administrators will have the power to authorize access to other institution staff. Staff members can utilize this information in a variety of helpful ways:
Academic Advisors By using the CollegeScope Student Information Management Tools, advisors can learn the most effective ways to communicate with their students and assist them in selecting a course of study best suited to who they are. They can also help students create class schedules most conducive to their learning styles.
Career Counselors The assessment results available in CollegeScope will give career counselors an incredible window into the career opportunities best suited to each student. A student's personality type is linked to potential careers - and for each career, CollegeScope provides information about work activities, knowledge, skills, abilities, wage information, and national employment trends.
Residence Life Staff Information provided in the Student Portfolio will help residence life staff make proactive decisions about roommate selection as well as assist students in effective communication and conflict resolution.
Administrators Responsible for looking at the "big picture," administrators can access global downloads from the database to conduct research and analyze trends about their students. This data will provide the institution specific information that will allow administrators to initiate targeted admission and retention efforts for the future.
