Q:

What is AchieveWORKS Learning & Productivity based on?

A:

Over 30 years ago, Rita and Kenneth Dunn constructed a first-generation instrument called The Learning Style Questionnaire. Their colleague at St. John’s University in New York, Gary E. Price, became interested in the learning style instrument and conducted a content analysis of the questionnaire to isolate the factors that achieved the greatest consistency. It is from this work that AchieveWORKS Learning & Productivity for students in Grades 3-12, and for college students, was born.

Q:

Where can I learn more about the research behind learning styles?

A:

Just take a look at our research section.

Q:

What do the terms “valid” and “reliable” mean?

A:

A valid instrument measures precisely what it claims to measure. A reliable one yields consistent and repeatable results over time. What does that mean to you? Peace of mind that our assessments do what we say they do.

Q:

How do you know an assessment works as it claims to?

A:

It’s easy to find an assessment with amazing claims, but few companies are willing to show you the research conducted on their assessment. Our assessments are both valid (they measure what they claim to) and reliable (the results have been repeated consistently). You can read more about the psychometrics, or statistical analysis, of our assessments at http://www.humanesources.com/research. We’re proud of the meaningful difference our assessments make in students’ lives every day and are happy to share their results.
